About the Artist
Eladio Santos is an award winning artist from the Philippines renowned for his lifelike portraits.
His career as an artist started as a cinema billboard painter in the 1970s, and his talent has not gone unnoticed as some of his artwork has been displayed in the Vita Ospedaliera in Italy.
Background
The first Gallery I ever visited was the Santos Gallery, which is a small gallery on a busy little Street in Manila. Immediately I noticed 4 paintings that stood out from all the others. After visiting 2 more galleries I returned to the Santos gallery and purchased the 4 oil paintings that appeared a bit special from all the other works.
I was very happy with my purchase and after discussing the paintings with the Lady who owns and runs the Gallery, I was astonished to find out that the painter - Eladio Santos - was her husband.
After returning home, I ordered a portrait for a family member who wanted a special gift for her father in law. The feedback I received was that the painting was unbelievable, and again she pointed out that there was something very special about the painting.
I then decided to have a painting done of my late father. When I went to collect this painting personally, I was shocked at the likeness & life that this painting created. Anyone who knew my late father and seen the painting made a similar comment regarding how Eladio can paint a life like image in his art. It was then that I decided to commission many more works and share the quality and professionalism of many hidden, talented artists, with other people.
